Professional
Qualifications:
As one of two graduates in the inaugural “Class
of 2006” Capital
Law School Certificate Program Paula has studied
all aspects of dispute resolution, including negotiation, mediation
and arbitration. She also did extensive study in divorce and
family mediation. In her clinic work, she participated in a
pilot program for mediation in Franklin County, Ohio Eviction Court,
and mediated cases in Small Claims and Domestic Relations in the
same court system.
Early in her professional career, Paula served
in management positions, often using her expertise to deal with workplace
conflict as well as business-to-business conflict resolution.
Currently,
Paula mediates cases in Domestic Relations Mediation at the Franklin
County Court where she deals with juvenile victim-offender disputes,
divorce mediation, shared parenting scheduling and access visitation
issues, among others. She has come to
love the family arena for mediation because of the positive results
she believes can be achieved during these emotional and sometimes
explosive periods of life. By helping people work out family
issues, a changing family dynamic can be much less taxing on both
partners, not to mention the children involved.
Paula earned her Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio
State University. She is a member of the American Bar Association,
Ohio Mediation Association and the Association for Conflict Resolution. She
is also a member of the Columbus Board of Realtors.
A long time resident
of Columbus, Ohio, Paula is married with three children. She
belongs to First Community church where she sings in the choir.
